documenting my progress and stuff
Finally finished modeling Downtown Seattle block 3. It took a long time, also duo to the fact that for some parts reference images were hard to come by, but luckely flickr was a great source for material that really helped me alot. As Seattlelites might see it also has the Brooklyn seafood and steak on the side, i tried to put most of the smaller detail on it as well. you can see the whole model interactively here on sketchfab. Also i putted the model on safe on the store page. will start on block 4 soon, still weighing which one it will be, i am eager to do the Benaroya hall, should be a big challenge. anyways if anyways has some great detailed pictures of the memorial facade side of Benaroya hall i could really use that for modelling reference. :)
Hello actually since the beginning of my modeling carreer (or hobby) i have been doing sci fi models here and there and i have decided some while back to model ten different ufo´s model. i already finished five so far, and of the good ones i will post some pictures of them. Also i putted them on shutterstock, so they are copywrited, hell yes, i do that copywrite stuff also now.
So i little while ago i started to create a 3D model of the city that i am currently living in, which is Vienna, located in Austria, they call it the city of music, a city which has a lot to offer it is also called the city that always sleeps... on time. Well that has been more my own observation i should say. But you´ll find great inspiration here for music lovers and architecture lovers and since i belong to the latter category its not a bad place to build your nest.
Anyways i have great plans for this city, but of course more in a digital point of view. i am planning to model the inner districts in LOD3 and some monumental buildings in LOD4 (with facade details)
This you can imagine is a huge undertaking which will stretch some years i am guessing. So i guess all ya´ll 3D fans will have to be patient.
So i here i would like to publicly start of my Seattle 3D project. This is a rather ambitious project i should say. And that is to create a 3D model of Downtown Seattle in LOD4, which means in a level of detail where the facade details like windows and major ornaments are modeled as well.
below is the link of a interactive 3D model of the first two city blocks that i modeled.
Since i am not able to work on it full time duo other projects and live and stuff. But whenever i have some new blocks finished i will update this Seattle category.
So my name is Roger Bootsma and i have been doing 3D modeling for more then four years now. Mostly focusing on architectural models but also science fiction as well. in this blog i would like to show my progress to those whom would be interested in seeing it. This blog i would like put into different categories, which you can find on the side.
